Wax melts are candles without the wick: you gently warm the wax and the fragrance fills the room. Here’s how to get the most from them.
How to melt
- Put your burner on a flat, heat-resistant surface, away from curtains, draughts and anything that can catch fire.
- Snap off one or two cubes (or scoop a spoonful from a shot pot) and place them in the dish.
- Light a tealight underneath, or switch on your electric warmer.
- Within a few minutes the wax melts and the scent starts to fill the room.
Tips for the strongest scent
- Start with one cube. Our melts are strong, so you may not need more.
- Each melt gives hours of scent. When the fragrance fades, the wax is done: swap it for a fresh one.
- You can mix scents in the dish to create your own blend.
- Keep doors open between rooms to let the scent travel.
Changing the wax
Let the wax set hard, then pop the dish in the freezer for 10 minutes and the wax will lift out. Alternatively, with the wax still liquid, soak it up with a cotton pad. Never pour wax down the sink.
Stay safe
- Never leave a burner unattended while the tealight is lit or the warmer is on.
- Keep burners out of reach of children and pets.
- Don’t move a burner while the wax is liquid: it gets hot.
- Never add water to the dish, and don’t touch the melted wax.
- Read the safety label on each product before use.
